Prada and the Devil

I started this weblog only yesterday after work. It was Friday and my wife and I decided to go see a movie since the children are away.

We ended up at The Devil Wears Prada.

As usual Meryl Streep has produced a tremendous performance, and I wish I could have said this is a must for those interested in questions of fashion but the movie's main focus is about a young woman growing up as a professional in New York and finding her way through her first real job as an administrative assistant for the executive editor of a fashion mangazine. The movie, which comes with a script worthy of a play (otherwise, I would have wondered about Streep), does provide a little boost for the world of fashion but the effort remains subtle and faints away in the main stroy.

While the Devil may wear Prada, so does the Pope!
